No matter what remedies you intend to use for removing the bed bugs, it is necessary to keep in mind that you need to apply these remedies time to time so as to completely prevent the growth of bed bugs. 
Bed Bugs in a Mattress



  • Vacuum Cleaning and Heat Treatment: Bed bugs cannot survive to temperatures that are above 113 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, it is necessary to use any extreme heat to remove them. You can use vacuum cleaner or any one of the hot steam cleaning equipment. Vaccum clean your mattress, carpet, cushions, pillows, furniture, crack and holes and any space where there are chances of bed bugs to accumulate and where electric cleaning equipment can be used. You can also put any infected clothing and bedding into dryers for an extended amount of time. 
  • Cold Treatment: Bed bugs cannot tolerate cold climate as well. You can leave your clothes outside if it is winter season. Otherwise you can put them in the freezer or you can wash your clothes with ice cold water or leave it in ice until it melts and forms into water.  Both freezing and using steam or heat will work. Just make sure to expose the bugs to these temperatures for a while to guarantee effectiveness. 
  • Washing BedSheets and Bed Covers Frequently: Washing the bed sheets frequently is a good solution. 
  • Sealing mattresses with mattress casings or covers: Bed bugs cannot penetrate through any kind of material, especially that are synthetically produced. Wrapping a plastic cover around the mattress helps preventing the bed bugs from entering deeper.
  • Sanitize Everything: To treat bed bugs, one has to sanitise the house completely including disinfecting of all the furniture, clothes and mattresses in order to attain complete success.

Natural Remedies to Get Rid of Bed Bugs
  • Neem Treatment: Neem is a Safe Natural Remedy for Removing Bed Bugs as neem leaves have antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Pluck fresh neem leaves and crumble them with your hands and spread the leaves on the mattresses, upholstery and anything else where you suspect infestation. You can leave the leaves under the beds and sofa sets too. Leave it there until the neem leaves are dry. Replace with fresh leaves. Do not crush the leaves if you have light coloured upholstery as it could stain the surface. For disinfecting the clothes and bed sheets, boil neem leaves in a bucket of water and dip all the clothes inside until it becomes cold. Wash these clothes with detergent and preferably in hot water. You can use neem water for taking bath as well.
  • Herbal Oil Spray: There is a range of natural cures that people have used to treat their bed bug problem with varying degrees of success. A few suggestions is to try include spraying lavender, thyme, tea tree, or eucalyptus on bed linens, clothes and in other locations where people sleep in the house.
  • Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth: Bed bugs have been known to decrease when using food-grade diatomaceous earth as a repellent for bed bugs.
  • Boric Acid: It is suggested to spread boric acid powder about the places where bed bugs choose to frequent, feed, and hide. This natural cure should never come in direct contact with a mattress or box spring. This remedy is often used to control the migration of bed bugs in a home.
